This week Face Britain was featured
on Blue Peter.
Headteachers all over the UK are now receiving a Face Britain information pack inviting their school to be part of the largest ever online gallery of young people’s self portraits in the UK. Thanks to the support of PhotoBox, all self portraits will be given a platform for parents and teachers to share and celebrate the young people’s work. Inside the pack schools will find details on the project, organised by The Prince’s Foundation for Children & the Arts and supported by PhotoBox, Overthrow Productions and a host of other organisations.
The Face Britain website is now up and running along with the Face Britain Facebook page.Jeremy Newton from The Prince’s Foundation for Children
& the Arts said:
“With Her Majesty the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the eyes of the world will be on Britain in 2012. Face Britain gives us the opportunity to celebrate the ‘2012 Generation’ – those children and young people who will remember these events for the rest of their lives and who can bring their imagination and inspiration to the task of recording for posterity a multi-dimensional picture of the country’s future.”
The real fun of course starts in September when young people will have until March 2012 to submit their self portraits. We can’t wait to see what everyone creates!
